Sorry in advance, but I’m gonna sound a lil harsh right off the bat: Most small business owners treat content like a vending machine that should spit out leads. But that’s not how opportunities are made online. Not unless you’re prepared to drop a bucketload of cash on paid ads. Here’s what you’re missing:Content that converts doesn’t come from scattered posting. It comes from building genuine trust over time. And the only way to build that trust? Following three core principles: 1. Clarity Get crystal clear on who you help and how.Too many small biz owners try to help everyone, and end up helping no one. Think of it like a keynote: speakers are told to lock eyes with one person in the crowd. The same goes for your content – write to one person, not everyone. 2. Consistency If your strategy is to flood the feed for three weeks straight while inspiration hits and then ghost… just go spend the money on ads, dude. Content is a marathon, not a sprint. Show up minimum two or three times a week, again and again, so you stay top of mind. 3. Connection Content alone won’t do the heavy lifting. Sure, sometimes you get lucky and you'll get a message from someone that says: “Wow, I’ve never heard anyone speak about [your expertise] like this before. Could we jump on a call?” Yes, that did happen to one of my clients. But even I’ll admit it’s rare. Outreach and engagement matter. DM people. Leave comments. And always remember to ask yourself: how will this come across to the human on the other end? Or chasing clicks and follower counts. It’s about creating the kind of trust and authority that turns: Quick action steps you can take:
